Iron Chinchilla is the original work of Ft. Worth artisan Patrick Neuwirth. Grounded in faith and family, Patrick creates much of his portfolio finding inspiration in the Scriptures and lessons of Christianity. Crosses make up the majority of the designs, including "The Original Promise" Cross, "Walk in Love" Cross, and a series of Vine crosses featuring symbols of rebirth and renewal - butterflies, dragonflies and a cardinal. All crosses include Scripture story cards. All items are handmade from carbon steel. Made in Texas.
- Walk in Love Cross: Paul tells us in the book of Ephesians that marriage is about submitting to God and His plan for our life as husband and wife…2 persons united in one flesh. The Unity Cross is an illustration of marriage through the eyes of our creator; the joined hearts resting on the cross signify our unity in marriage and our submission to Christ and his teachings, leaving us open to receive His Blessings! 16" to hang on wall.
Dragonfly and the Vine Cross: For centuries the Dragonfly has amazed and mystified its admirers with it bright colors and graceful flight. Many believe the dragonfly to be the spirit of a friend or relative that has passed, or as an agent of change and good luck. With this piece, I have paired the Dragonfly with the Cross to signify the life changing role Jesus plays in our lives through his sacrifice for us. And yet another reminder that we are forgiven and never truly alone.
The cross measures roughly 16″ x 9″ but as it is a handmade item the size may vary. The Dragonfly is tempered with heat to achieve the subtle blue/purple/gold color combination.
Original Promise Cross: A simple cross representing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the heart delicately balanced across the center to symbolize God’s love, the gift of his Son, and the incredible offering that was given to us, through His Promise in John 3:16 that says; “whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The Promise Cross is designed to hang on a wall of a home as a daily reminder of the life changing role Christ can play in our lives, and the significance of the Promise God made to his people. 16" to hang on a wall or 10" standing on a table.
- Cardinal and the Vine Cross: The symbolism of the vine is referenced in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, most notably in John 15 when Jesus says to His disciples: I am the Vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." By comparison, the Cardinal is not mentioned even one time in the Scripture, yet it is an example of God as a creator. So striking in its appearance and singing a familiar song, the Cardinal is God's symbol of passion, strength and perseverance as it braves any season with grace. Just the sight of its crimson wings can remind us that there is hope...if we know where to look. 16" to hang on wall.
- Butterfly and Vine Cross or Heart: The symbolism of the vine is referenced throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, most notably in John 15 when Jesus says to his disciples: 5 “I am the Vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – By comparison, the butterfly, while it is not mentioned in scripture, it holds so much symbolism in our lives, from new beginnings, to a renewal of the spirit, hope and life. With this sculpture, Patrick has taken a delicate butterfly and tempered it with fire to illustrate the trials that we all experience throughout our lives. But if we rest our faith on the vine of Jesus, we can be renewed. 16" Cross to hang. 10" Cross or Heart to stand on table.
